St. Clare Surgical Center is a high‑quality, patient‑focused ambulatory surgery center providing outpatient surgical services across multiple specialties. We are seeking a skilled and motivated OR Charge Nurse (RN) to lead daily clinical operations and support our perioperative team. Position Summary The Charge Nurse oversees the clinical workflow of the ASC, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant patient care throughout the Pre‑Op, Operating Room, and PACU areas. This role serves as a clinical resource to nursing staff, coordinates daily assignments, supports physicians, and helps maintain regulatory standards (CMS, State of Missouri, OSHA). The Charge Nurse balances leadership responsibilities with hands‑on patient care. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support clinical nursing staff across Pre‑Op, Operating Room, and PACU Assign daily staffing based on case load, patient acuity, and skill mix Coordinate patient flow to promote on‑time starts and efficient room turnovers Serve as a clinical resource and first point of contact for staff and surgeons Ensure compliance with ASC policies, infection control practices, and safety protocols Assist with direct patient care as needed (pre‑op, circulating, PACU) Participate in quality improvement initiatives and incident reporting Collaborate with leadership on staff development, training, and performance feedback Support supply management, equipment readiness, and emergency response protocols Qualifications Current RN license in the state of Missouri Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience (OR experience required) Prior leadership, charge nurse, or team lead experience preferred BLS certification ACLS certification preferred Strong working knowledge of ASC workflows, patient safety, and regulatory requirements Excellent communication, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills Ability to lead a multidisciplinary clinical team with confidence and professionalism What We Offer Competitive salary Monday-Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or major holidays Health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits (including 401(k)) Paid time off (PTO) and continuing education opportunities Supportive team environment focused on collaboration and work‑life balance
