Duties Lead and coordinate nursing staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to clinical protocols. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and comprehensive physical examinations to inform treatment plans. Manage complex medical procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, and aseptic techniques with precision. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and documentation to optimize patient care continuity. Supervise medication administration, injection procedures, and pain management strategies aligned with best practices. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Respond swiftly to emergency situations in acute care environments like ICU or trauma centers, providing critical support and decision-making. Skills Extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, ICU, or trauma medicine within Level I or Level II trauma centers. Proficiency in advanced clinical skills including cardiology procedures such as cardiac catheterization and infectious disease care. Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient record management. Skilled in working with individuals with disabilities, memory care needs, behavioral health challenges, and geriatric populations including long-term care and assisted living settings. Expertise in acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, and post-acute care environments. Ability to perform complex assessments involving anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, airway management, ventilator use, and sterile processing techniques.
