Job Description

Public Health Clinical Nursing Supervisor II (full-time) Lead a team that makes a direct impact on the health of families across Alamance County. As the Public Health Nursing Supervisor, you will oversee Family Planning, Maternal Health, Child Health, Home Visiting, and STI services—ensuring high-quality care, supporting staff, and helping shape programs that improve community health. This role blends clinical leadership, team development, and program coordination to advance the mission of protecting and promoting the health of every resident. Step into a leadership role where your work shapes the health and well-being of families across Alamance County. As the Public Health Nursing Supervisor, you'll guide a dedicated team and oversee key programs including Family Planning, Maternal Health, Child Health, Home Visiting, and STI services. In this dynamic position, you will:
  • Lead and support a talented multidisciplinary team, helping them grow, succeed, and deliver exceptional care.
  • Build and enhance programs that directly impact women, children, and families—improving access, quality, and outcomes.
  • Develop and refine policies, workflows, and standing orders that keep services effective, efficient, and aligned with state standards.
  • Collaborate with agency leadership, community partners, and state consultants to expand resources and address local health needs.
  • Oversee daily operations, streamline processes, and ensure the clinic environment runs smoothly and professionally.
  • Offer clinical support when needed—from reviewing abnormal results to providing patient counseling and education.
  • Play an essential role in emergency preparedness and public health response, contributing to the safety and resilience of our county.
This is a leadership role with purpose, influence, and variety—ideal for a nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys mentoring others, and is passionate about making a measurable difference in public health. Master's in Nursing and three years of Public Health nursing experience (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and four years of Public Health nursing experience (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or a Master's in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of Public Health Nursing experience (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or graduation from a school of professional nursing and five years of professional nursing experience four of which must have been in Public Health (including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity); or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in North Carolina by the N.C. Board of Nursing. A valid North Carolina issued driver's license. Accountability
