Medford Nursery is a leading wholesale grower located in central New Jersey, covering over 400 acres. We specialize in supplying high-quality shrubs, perennials, and a full line of container-grown roses to premier independent garden centers and re-wholesalers across the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and upper Midwest regions. We pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with customers by meeting and exceeding their needs. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Medford, NJ, for a Nursery/Horticulture Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Manager. Responsibilities include overseeing pest management programs to maintain plant health, identifying pests and implementing treatments as needed, and monitoring plant conditions and pest populations. The IPM Manager will collaborate with other teams to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. This role also involves monitoring crops for insects, weeds, and disease and implement proactive solutions. What You'll Do Lead and manage the nursery's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and chemical control program according to established schedules and protocols. Direct, train, and supervise IPM staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant pest-management practices. Plan and allocate chemicals, equipment, and personnel to support effective and cost-efficient IPM operations. Scout and monitor nursery crops for insects, weeds, and diseases, and implement proactive, data-driven control strategies. Ensure all chemical applications are performed accurately and safely, in full compliance with WPS, label requirements, and all regulatory standards. Build and strengthen the IPM department to support optimal plant health, quality, and performance. Collaborate closely with growers to align pest-management strategies with proper horticultural practices. Maintain open communication with all departments to ensure plant health standards are consistently met for sales and distribution.
Requirements:
Expertise in Landscape Maintenance, Horticulture, and general nursery care practice Proven leadership skills, including the ability to manage a team and handle employee relations effectively Strong Knowledge with integrated plant pest management techniques and practices Experience in Irrigation system management and water systems Ability to identify disease issues effectively Proven record of adhering to environmental and safety standards Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field (preferred but not required) Certified pesticide applicator's license preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records
