Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate 3-11 Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility during the evening shift. This pivotal role involves supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings. Duties Oversee daily nursing operations during the 3-11 shift, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to hospital policies and procedures. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on excellence in patient care. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer or supervise medication administration, IV infusions, catheter care, tube feeding, and other complex clinical procedures including ventilator management and sterile processing. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records while managing patient intake, discharge planning, and documentation of medical terminology and diagnoses such as ICD-10 coding. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, physical therapists, social workers, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes across acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics, and long-term care settings. Lead quality assurance initiatives related to infection control, utilization review, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) management, and adherence to NCQA standards. Skills Proven supervisory experience in a healthcare setting with strong leadership capabilities in nurse management. Extensive clinical expertise in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; experience with Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient management. In-depth knowledge of medical imaging procedures like sonography or spinal taps; familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques is advantageous. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including CPT coding), and medical terminology necessary for accurate patient assessment and treatment planning. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; dementia or Alzheimer's care experience is a plus. Ability to perform advanced clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, suture application, airway management including neonatal ventilators or adult ventilators as needed. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, family education on health coaching or discharge planning; adept at managing complex cases involving behavioral health or occupational health issues. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards along with sterile techniques for infection control and specimen collection/processing.
