We are looking for a Charge Operating Room Nurse to join our Executive Woods Ambulatory Surgery Center! Monday-Friday, no weekends, no on-call or required holidays. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative process in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care. Serve as a resource for perioperative procedures and processes, guiding staff on protocols, resolving workflow issues, and upholding standards throughout surgical care. Coordinate daily OR activities, including staff assignments, room coverage, surgical schedules, breaks, and workflow. Assist with managing changes to the surgical schedule, staffing needs, and other operational issues throughout the day. Promote efficient patient flow and timely room turnover while maintaining patient safety and quality standards. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, surgical technologists, sterile processing, and leadership. Support compliance with infection prevention, medication safety, surgical safety, and regulatory requirements. Assist with orientation, training, and ongoing support of new and existing team members. Reinforce department policies, procedures, and clinical standards and escalate concerns to nursing leadership as appropriate. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to improve workflow, patient care, and operational efficiency. Assist with emergency situations and provide clinical guidance to staff as needed. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation. Communicate staffing, clinical, operational, or employee concerns to the appropriate leader. Promote a collaborative, respectful, and team-oriented environment. Support staff through communication, coordination, and informal guidance. Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 2-4 years of perioperative (OR) nursing experience Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license required, bachelor's degree preferred; Basic Life Support (BLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred CNOR certification preferred Prior experience in charge nurse, flow coordination, or high-volume surgical setting preferred Ability to effectively communicate with providers, patients and peers; Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in perioperative nursing #eop
