Job Description:

Custom Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Med-Surg Nurse Manager (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Far Rockaway, NY, with the possibility for extension. This is a great opportunity for a strong clinical leader with prior management experience in an acute care setting. Med-Surg Nurse Manager (RN)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday Day Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, based on unit needs)

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring efficient patient flow and quality care delivery Supervise, support, and evaluate nursing staff, including scheduling and performance management Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction Monitor staffing levels and adjust based on census and acuity Participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff development initiatives Address patient care concerns and escalate issues as needed Maintain accurate documentation and assist with audits, quality improvement, and performance metrics Serve as a clinical resource and leader for the nursing team

Requirements & Qualifications:

Active RN license (New York State) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred Minimum 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience At least 1-2 years of leadership or nurse management experience in a Med-Surg setting Strong knowledge of hospital operations, staffing, and regulatory standards Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
