Job Description
- 7:30 am every other weekend and open shifts, PTO etc. on days 7am-3:30 pm . Must be a registered nurse in NYS in good standing with at least two or more years in a supervisory role in LTC or healthcare setting. Must be a good communicator and assist staff, residents and families. Must be able to multi
- task. Responsibilities and duties include but is not limited to: Per diem for any shift available as well.
- Assumes responsibility for the entire facility and manages all staff on shift
- Evaluation of all ill residents or incidents/accidents that occur and documents and notifies MD or NP of same.
- Must take charge in emergency situations
- Initiates any Procedure that requires the skills of an RN
- Adheres to the established policies and procedures
- Works with the nursing staff on units and assures facility employees are following policies and procedures.
- Must be currently CPR certified
- Staffs for on-coming shift
- Communicates with Nursing Administration and Administrator of any and all major issues
- Employee discipline as needed
- Fills out employee Incident and accidents and follows protocols
- leads or follows up on investigations on allegations
- Manages call ins and coverage as needed
- Communicates with nursing personnel on shift and medical personnel.
- Steps in as needed on units Rounds to assure care and service is being provided.
Skills:
- Strong clinical knowledge and experience in various areas of nursing, laboratory, pain management, assessments, infection control, and more
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
