Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Director of Nursing / Clinical Coordinator for a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center located in Melville, NY. Position is Monday to Friday with varied hours. No weekends or holidays. Responsible for supervising and directing nursing care in all clinical areas of the facility; Pre-Op, OR and PACU; according to its policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives. Responsible for the coordination of care provided in these units on a daily basis, collaborating closely with the Administrator.
Other responsibilities include:
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, applicable laws and standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach in all communications
  • Represent the healthcare delivery team to ensure patient safety, quality care and safe, efficient clinical operations by supporting effective patient care delivery systems
  • Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of infectious diseases in our healthcare facility.
This includes developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures, conducting surveillance activities, and educating staff and patients on infection control practices. The Infection Control Nurse will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that high standards of infection prevention and control are maintained and that any risks to the safety and wellbeing of patients and staff are minimized.
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the organization's adopted Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program (QAPI), policies and procedures
  • Handle patient inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional manner
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Active RN license in New York state
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS
    Certification
  • Healthcare management experience
  • Evidence of leadership qualities
  • Strong ethical and moral character references
  • Demonstrates understanding of Quality Improvement Process
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with progressive leadership in an acute care hospital or ambulatory surgery center
