Job Description

This position has a $5000 sign on bonus distributed throughout 12 months according to policy.
Job Summary:
Provides supervision of nursing personnel within the CRS Nursing Department as assigned to ensure compliance with Maryhaven Policy and Procedures and OPWDD regulations. Provides training to nursing personnel and ensures nursing coverage for assigned case load.
Education and Qualifications:
Current NYS R.N. License. 1-2 years nursing experience with developmental disabled population.
Valid NYS Driver's License Job/Position Essential Functions:
Ensures quality medical and nursing care for individuals. Covers for Nursing Coordinator/Assistant Nursing Coordinator if absence. Alternates Administrative on call back up for CRS with Nursing Coordinator and Assistant Nursing Coordinator. Keeps Nursing Coordinator informed and updated on assigned case load. Oversees completion of pre-audit process and follow up for assigned sites/nursing personnel. Ensures medications, supplies, and equipment (including PPE) are stored and maintained properly at the sites. Routinely visits assigned sites to ensure nursing compliance with OPWDD regulations and internal policy and procedures are met; completes site visit log. Responsible for the scheduling needs of assigned case load (including any interim coverage for wound care, catheterization needs, insulin, etc.) Responsible to schedule nurses for needed trainings (BLS, DM) in house and OPWDD (DM, DD/ID Nursing). Responsible to maintain training documentation of internal and external nursing personnel for assigned case load, forwarding copy to Nursing Coordinator. Responsible to meet the training needs of new nursing personnel inclusive of nursing procedures (i.e. diabetic training, insulin administration, enteral feedings, would care, etc.), OPWDD trainings as required, BLS. Participates in the development and updating of training modules, policies, procedures, nursing guidelines as needed. Responsible for disbursement and training of these materials to assigned case load ensuring sites are in-serviced appropriately. Oversight of AMAP pouring compliance by assigned nursing personnel. Assists with hospital admission and discharges as needed, oversee communication has been made to hospitals to ensure safety of patient. Alternates administrative on call for
