Weeks Short Description:

RN Supervisor - FT evenings (5x8s)

Minimum:

NYS RN licensure, min. 1-year nurse experience in long term care + supervisor/clinical lead experience over multiple units (charge-only not accepted)

Certifications:

BLS (AHA or RQI only).

•All contracts must run through Februrary/March end dates Full-Time Evenings (3:00p-11:30p) 5x8s, EOW, Holiday as needed

Complete Description:
Minimum:

Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing.

Preferred:
BSN License:

Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure

Certifications:

BLS required through AHA or RQI system during clinical orientation. CPI obtained within 90 days of hire.

Job Functions:

- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units. Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts. Communicates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems. Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution and leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items. - Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift/weekends) within identified scope of responsibility.

Other Requirements:

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units. Ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services and customers in a professional and courteous manner. Demonstrated ability to manage self professionally in stressful situations. Ability to facilitate clinical management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Familiarity with NYSDOH requirements. Demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills. Computer literacy.

Exposure Control Classification:

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissue.
