General Summary:
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) serves as the administrative resource lead within the department for interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures for the department. They will collaborate with the department manager to direct and assist staff in problem resolution and daily department management. The ANM will collaborate with the department manager for supervisory role of direct reports, sharing responsibility for effective communication horizontally and vertically within the organization. Communicate with patients and families as needed. The ANM implements and evaluates ongoing service programs that ensure quality nursing and patient care, consistent with Fisher-Titus' mission, vision, and values.
Education, Licensure, Registration and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN or equivalent preferred Management experience preferred Minimum of four years of current clinical nursing experience in a hospital environment in which leadership, interpersonal skills, clinical expertise, and professional creativity has been demonstrated. Current state licensure in nursing BLS certification required ACLS certification required PALS certification preferred Two years of critical care experience preferred
Essential Functions:
Defines standards of department nursing care utilizing evidence-based practices and develops processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance. Manages compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services, environment, and personnel safety. Oversees performance improvement program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care. Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting service and implements solutions with follow through. Actively participates in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing communication to those represented. Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff. Manage human resources to assure quality services and promote positive employee relations. Coaches direct reports by providing feedback, giving constructive critique of work, facilitating the development of problem solving and decision-making skills, and documents their job performance annually. Follows progressive corrective action process in order to maintain productivity and/or performance standards. Responsible for operational excellence of the department and ensures that the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards. Responsible for fiscal management of department, assures proper utilization of organizational resources. Attains all agreed to goals and objective within specified time frames as part of the organization's overall mission. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Attends all required training and educational programs. Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need.
