Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor - Registered Nurse to oversee patient care operations within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, comprehensive clinical knowledge, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care across various medical settings. This role involves supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech is essential, along with expertise in critical care, geriatrics, behavioral health, and specialized areas like ICU. The Nursing Supervisor will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in patient services. Duties Supervise daily nursing operations across departments including medical-surgical, ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and long-term care settings such as assisted living and memory care. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs, physical examinations, and medical documentation ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Coordinate and supervise clinical procedures including IV infusion/insertion, catheterization/care, phlebotomy, suturing, ventilator management, gastric lavage, spinal taps, and sterile processing. Manage medication administration protocols adhering to CPT coding and DRG guidelines while ensuring safe use of ventilators and airway management techniques. Conduct patient triage in emergency situations; participate in acute pain management and complex diagnostic evaluations. Supervise nursing staff including nurse management responsibilities; foster team development through coaching on health coaching techniques and working with people with disabilities or developmental delays. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols; manage sterile techniques during procedures such as venipuncture or catheter care. Skills Extensive clinical expertise in critical care environments including ICU experience. Strong leadership skills with supervising experience in diverse healthcare settings; the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care. Excellent communication skills for patient assessment discussions; adept at triage protocols for emergency medicine scenarios. Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments; commitment to infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Experience in a supervisory or team lead role. Required - American Red Cross/AHA BLS upon hire, ACLS within 6 months of hire. PALS within 1 year. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality protocols.
