Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Springbrook Behavioral Health is seeking a Psychiatric Charge Nurse to supervise Nursing service activities on our Adult floor.
QUALIFICATION EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and currently registered by the State of South Carolina Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years of nursing experience in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. Previous Charge Nurse experience with Psychiatric and/or Gero-Psychiatry patients preferred.
LICENSURE
Licensed to practice in the State of South Carolina as an RN by the State of South Carolina Board of Nursing.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Use common sense, Critical thinking skills, special medical skills, and the ability to care for physically and/or mentally ill, handicapped or agitated patients with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Understand technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels. Use eyes, hands, and fingers with skill. Work fast in an emergency. Communicate with people when they are sick, handicapped, or nervous. Change from one duty to another frequently. Follow instructions exactly. Record information accurately. Ability to provide professional guidance, instruction, and leadership to nursing and related patient care staff.
