The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations on the assigned unit, ensuring high-quality resident care, supporting staff, and maintaining compliance with facility policies and state regulations. This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a commitment to resident safety and dignity. We are looking for nurses who are team-oriented, organized, and ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and their families. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other nursing staff on the assigned shift Monitor resident conditions and promptly report changes to physicians, families, and leadership as required Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record Administer medications and treatments safely and in compliance with regulations Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions Ensure infection control, safety, and quality standards are maintained at all times Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team collaboration Provide guidance, coaching, and support to nursing staff Maintain compliance with Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) regulations and facility policies Promote a positive, respectful, and professional work environment Qualifications Current and valid Texas RN or LVN license Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain) Previous experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities Ability to work effectively as part of a team Reliable attendance and punctuality Preferred Qualifications Experience as a Charge Nurse or in a supervisory nursing role Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards Experience with medication administration and treatment documentation Work Schedule Our Open Charge Nurse Position is Monday to Friday from 2:00PM to 10:00PM Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment Why Join Us At Spanish Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our residents while supporting our staff with the tools and leadership they need to succeed.
