Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse, where your leadership and clinical expertise will drive exceptional patient care across diverse settings. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, coordinate patient assessments, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards. Duties Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure adherence to care plans, policies, and procedures, fostering a collaborative team environment. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical histories, utilizing your physiology knowledge and clinical judgment. Manage complex patient needs such as IV infusions, ventilator management, catheterization, and wound care with precision and confidence. Coordinate interdisciplinary communication for discharge planning, case management, and medical documentation using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner. Oversee medication administration, injections, tube feeding, and sterile procedures while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Respond promptly to urgent situations such as acute pain episodes or emergency room transfers by applying your emergency medicine and critical care experience. Maintain accurate medical records, perform specimen collection/processing, and ensure infection control protocols are rigorously followed. Qualifications Valid LVN or RN license with current state certification; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are required. Demonstrated experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly preferred. Extensive background working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care (including Alzheimer's), memory care, or in long-term care settings like nursing homes or assisted living communities. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with
ICD-9/10
coding is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs, intake/output monitoring, venipuncture, catheter care and other invasive procedures. Experience in specialized areas such as hospice care, infectious disease management, pediatric or neonatal ventilator support is a plus. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and working effectively with patients of all ages—including children and infants—and their families.
