Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will play a crucial role in overseeing patient care, managing nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings and a passion for providing high-quality care to patients. Duties 1. Conduct rounds on assigned residents at the beginning of shift, at least every two hours and upon completion of shift. 2. Conduct rounds with physician and record visits in clinical records. 4. Review 24-Hour Report with incoming and outgoing Charge Nurse. 5. Provides and oversees nursing care to assigned residents. 6.Identify significant changes in the condition of residents and take necessary action per facility policies and procedures. 7.Supervise aides in performing duties by verifying their assignments have been completed. 9. Monitor and assist in meal services. 10. Assist in implementing acute care plans as resident's condition changes. 11. Participate in staff meetings as needed. 12. Administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physician. 13. Obtain and transcribe physician's orders accurately (i.e. date, time, diagnosis, route, resident, frequency, medication, dose, strength, duration, nurse signature). 14. Supervise/assist the medication aide, if applicable. 15. Order, verify, receive, and store medication. 16. Follow facility policy and procedure for medication administration. Experience Candidates should possess a diverse range of skills and experiences, including but not limited to: Proficiency in Point Click Care systems Experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or trauma medicine. Familiarity with medical terminology. Background in long-term care facility. Skills in IV infusion, suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization, and airway management. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care. Competence in conducting physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations. Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. The Charge Nurse position is essential for maintaining high standards of patient care while fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff.
