University Health System Lubbock, Texas Surgical Services at Health and Wellness Hospital will be closed on weekends and hospital observed holidays. Our mission is to be a leader in providing quality patient care by promoting excellence and innovation in OR. We use a multi-disciplinary approach to nursing care The OR staff presently consists of a Nurse Director, Assistant Director, Coordinator/Charge Nurse, Registered Nurses that are practicing with a current Texas License, and CSTs working directly under the Vice President of Procedural Services. The Department of Anesthesiology provides medical direction and coverage with a full time attending and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). The OR has 4 rooms, 1 Cath lab and 1 IR suite. Nursing orientation for the OR uses AORNs Peri-Op 101 and takes up to 6 months, depending on previous experience. •Our nurses are trained in all aspects of the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases and work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and ancillary staff. Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License Must maintain a current
BLS, ACLS, & PALS
