Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient services. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, performing assessments, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards such as HIPAA and NCQA. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and home health environments. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using advanced EMR/EHR systems. Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols. Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization (urinary and vascular), suturing, tube feeding, and ostomy care. Manage airway devices including ventilators and perform respiratory assessments for patients requiring oxygen therapy or mechanical ventilation. Provide acute pain management, trauma care (Level I & II Trauma Center experience), and critical care interventions in ICU or emergency room settings. Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, mammography, and medical imaging procedures. Coordinate discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care planning for diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain accurate medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care across inpatient, outpatient, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, and home & community care environments. Stay current with medical terminology updates (ICD-9/10 coding), CPT coding practices, and relevant healthcare standards such as NCQA. Requirements Valid RN license in the state of practice with current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred for critical care roles. Proven experience in diverse clinical settings including hospital medicine (ICU experience preferred), emergency room (ER experience), outpatient clinics (urgent care), long-term care facilities (nursing homes), or home health environments. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Hands-on experience with advanced procedures like IV insertion/infusion therapy, phlebotomy/venipuncture, sterile technique procedures (surgical suturing), gastrostomy tube management, and ventilator management. Knowledge of infectious disease protocols and infection control practices; familiarity with working in trauma centers or teaching hospitals is advantageous. Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations including children (pediatric/neonatal care), seniors (geriatrics/memory/dementia care), individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology concepts, diagnostic evaluation techniques, medication administration protocols including Workers' Compensation law considerations where applicable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and provide health coaching when necessary.
