Job Description
GENERAL Position Overview Provides direct patient care in the Labor and Delivery setting. Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care. Communicates with physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition including: fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Performs general nursing duties in all Maternal Child Health departments with adequate supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Graduate from an accredited Registered school of nursing. Experience One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience Knowledge Of General practice medicine and medical terminology; standard diagnostic and medical equipment and instruments; basic office computer skills a must Licenses / Certifications / Registries Current licensure from the State Board of Nurse Examiners by the State of Texas with renewal as required by law; successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Certification, BCLS and fetal monitoring certification OTHERS Personality / Interpersonal Skills Appreciation of and the desire to be part of a health care team dedicated to providing patients optimal care.
