Full Job Description Role Overview:
Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels across all Nursing Units and overseeing hospital activities in the absence of administration. Acts as the hospital's clinical and administrative supervisor, providing guidance, ensuring compliance with policies, and responding to staffing and operational issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Visit units to assess their status, interpret policies, and coordinate patient placement and transfers. Screen and facilitate appropriate admissions and transfers. Serve as the hospital's administrative representative, acting as spokesperson, investigating incidents, and managing problem-solving efforts. Consult with on-call administrators and coordinate emergency operations as needed. Perform clinical functions and intervene in patient, family, and physician concerns, following up with relevant parties. Assign staffing for shifts, utilizing full-time, PRN, and agency staff, and adjust schedules accordingly. Monitor staff competency, reassign staff as needed, and review PRN pool associates' performance. Collaborate with other supervisors and staffing personnel to optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's Degree in Nursing RN License in the state of employment or a compact license BLS certification
