In this dynamic medical/surgical unit, the Nurse Manager Med/Surg will lead a high-acuity, fast-paced department in a hospital recognized as one of the best for obstetrics and emergency care. The Nurse Manager Med/Surg will oversee a diverse patient mix—post-op, step-down, telemetry-capable, and complex med/surg cases—supported by modern monitoring, collaborative rounding, and seamless coordination with the ED and Women's Services. With strong ancillary support and efficient care pathways, the Nurse Manager Med/Surg will champion throughput, reduce avoidable days, and keep the focus on compassionate, patient-centered care. Reporting to a seasoned nursing director and partnering closely with the CNO, the Nurse Manager Med/Surg will have robust administrative support, reliable staffing resources, and a collaborative, friendly nursing team. The Nurse Manager Med/Surg will lead charge nurses and clinical supervisors, steward budgets and staffing plans, mentor emerging leaders, and advance quality metrics such as HCAHPS, falls prevention, CAUTI, and CLABSI reduction. In a multidisciplinary environment that includes hospitalists, surgeons, pharmacists, case managers, therapists, and techs from diverse backgrounds, the Nurse Manager Med/Surg will foster shared governance, just culture, and continuous improvement.
