This Charge Nurse role is integral to shaping both the patient experience and the daily operations of a dynamic ambulatory team. The Role As a Charge Nurse in Pediatric Infusion and Specialty Clinics, you will function as both a clinical expert and an on ‑ the ‑ ground leader. You will drive daily operations while remaining closely connected to patient care, particularly for children receiving infusion therapies and specialty services, including oncology treatments. In this fast‑paced ambulatory environment, you will balance patient care responsibilities with operational oversight, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality care delivery. On an average day, you will: Lead clinic operations, overseeing patient flow, staffing coordination, and real ‑ time problem solving Deliver hands-on care, including infusion administration, monitoring for reactions, and symptom management Support pediatric patients with complex conditions, including those undergoing cancer treatment and specialty therapies Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, reinforcing best practices and supporting professional development Promote a culture of evidence ‑ based practice, safety, and clear communication Address operational and clinical challenges in real time, ensuring continuity and a positive patient experience This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and leadership presence, with a direct impact on both patient outcomes and team performance.
