Job Description

Summary:
Handles the preparation, distribution, inventory, management, labeling, storage, and delivery of infant feedings in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), postpartum and pediatric units. This includes human milk feedings [mother's own milk and pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM)], other additives and fortifiers and specialty formula feedings. Preparation techniques must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the health care facility, which should include compliance with policies related to the institution's lactation policies and procedures and human milk handling guidelines for enteral feedings. Demonstrates competencies relative to infection control principles, appropriate technical calculation (weights and measures conversions, including metrics). Responsible for operating equipment and ordering supplies required to prepare infant feeding.
Minimum Qualifications:
Other information: Preferred Certification Formula/ Human Milk Technician from accredited program within twelve months of hire.
