School Occupational Therapist | Bessemer, Alabama

Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract assignment providing essential Occupational Therapy services in school settings near Bessemer, Alabama. This opportunity spans multiple locations, offering meaningful engagement with students as you support their development and access to education. Positions are available to start as soon as possible, extending through early June. Your expertise will help shape student outcomes while collaborating with educators and families.
Key Qualifications:
Current Occupational Therapy license and certification specific to Alabama (proof of credentials required) Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred Familiarity with IEP processes and individualized service delivery Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to provide services fully onsite as required
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of 50-60 students across four schools Deliver OT services in various formats: individual, small group, and push-in to classroom environments Administer therapy based on IEP plans, including sessions of 30 minutes at varying frequencies (weekly, bi-monthly, monthly) Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy provided Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student participation and progress Work a consistent, school-based schedule from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm This contract assignment is perfect for Occupational Therapists passionate about helping students thrive in their educational journey.
