We are seeking a therapist who has a love for children, great communication skills and experience working with ages 2-18 years old. Our ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, supportive environment alongside a multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Behaviorists. Pediatric experience is required.
Responsibilities Holistic Intervention:
Address clients' performance areas to enhance engagement in meaningful occupations, supporting health, well-being, and overall quality of life.
Evidence-Based Practice:
Select, adapt, and implement appropriate occupational therapy models, methods, and approaches to guide individual intervention plans.
ADL/IADL
Optimization:
Deliver targeted interventions to maximize safety, independence, and performance in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental ADLs (IADLs).
Task Adaptation:
Teach clients task-modification strategies and techniques to break down complex goals into achievable steps.
Environmental Recommendations:
Assess home and community environmental needs through parent and care team feedback; provide clinical recommendations for modifications aligned with client abilities.
Assistive Technology:
Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment and provide comprehensive training for functional use.
Caregiver Education:
Guide, educate, and empower family members and caregivers to support the client's therapeutic progress.
Documentation:
Collect data, document clinical processes, and track progress toward short- and long-term treatment goals.
Case Management:
Conduct regular follow-ups to monitor client outcomes and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Skills & Qualifications Clinical Expertise:
Experience as an Occupational Therapist with deep knowledge of OT principles, practices, and current evidence-based treatments.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Strong emphasis on collaborative teamwork, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic client care.
Pediatric Specialization:
Direct experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
Standardized Assessment:
Familiarity with pediatric ADL evaluation tools (e.g., REAL, PEDI, PEDI-CAT).
Caseload Management:
Ability to manage patients with diverse clinical needs, behaviors, and profiles with professional behavior and strong interpersonal communication.
Professional Growth:
Dedicated to continuous learning, professional development, and cross-discipline practice alignment.
Licensure:
Holds license to practice Occupational Therapy.
