Director of Student Services and School PrincipalQUALIFICATIONS
: Licensed in the State of Arizona by the Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners Successful experience in K-8 schools Spanish speaking/bilingual ability preferred Experience in language development of non-native English speakers Familiar with augmentative communication devices and instructing students in useJOB GOAL
To develop, plan and implement appropriate occupational therapy based therapeutic programs and improve the school educational experience of the students in the Madison Elementary School District.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: Maintain attendance and hourly contact records Observation, screening, evaluation, and consultation for students who require or may require OT services Write transdisciplinary goals and objectives Maintain effective working relationships with other special education personnel as well as regular education personnel and parents Provide direct services to students Provide services in collaborative model Expertise with Augmentative Devices Exhibit the level of professionalism expected of a Madison employeeKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrates knowledge of state and national standards, district curriculum and instructional materials and assessments. Demonstrates knowledge of interpreting data and assessments to make instructional decisions. Supports school and district mission and vision. Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates flexibility, dependability, organization, and collaboration. Establishes rapport with peers and parents. Is willing to participate in district training for coaching. Demonstrates lifelong learning. Seeks opportunities to demonstrate leadership.REPORTS TO
Director of Student Services and Building PrincipalTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Maintains valid certifications/licenses and Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card. Observes district calendar and all Madison School District policies. Salary to be determined yearly according to Governing Board approved range.EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated by the Student Services Director and/or Special Ed Coordinator with the input of school principal or designee.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Supervises classroom employees, students and volunteers.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
