Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students as a contract Occupational Therapist for the upcoming academic year! This full-time, on-site opportunity is perfectly suited for dynamic OTs eager to work in educational settings, ranging from elementary to high school. Assignments may vary, with some itinerant positions serving multiple campuses. The role starts August 11, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027. You'll use your specialized knowledge to help students succeed, fostering participation and independence in their academic and daily routines. Candidates should be confident working with limited supervision and ready to navigate the unique challenges of school-based OT services.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution Active OT license in California Prior experience or strong familiarity with school-based OT services Solid understanding of the Special Education process, education-specific terminology, and standardized OT assessments Confidence in adapting to varied caseloads across grades K-12 Ability to travel locally if assigned to multiple sites (itinerant role) Self-starter who can work effectively with limited guidancePrimary Responsibilities:
Evaluate students using standardized tools and contribute assessment results to multidisciplinary teams Develop and implement interventions and individualized therapy plans Consult collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure strategies support each child's education and development Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings Stay up-to-date with state and district guidelines You'll be part of a supportive school environment, working closely alongside educators and specialists to shape positive learning experiences for students.
