BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the occupational therapist provides educationally related occupational therapy services to students with various disabilities according to the students Individualized Education Program (IEP). Provides assessment, consultation and direct occupational therapy to students within educational, developmental and functional parameters; develops and implements individual and/or group occupational therapy intervention plans.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university
  • Combination of training and experience to a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in planning and providing occupational therapy services in an accredited medical center, hospital, clinic, school, or other agency, preferably related to children and/or adolescents. Other evidence may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
  • Bilingual, English-Spanish highly desirable
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Prospective and current employees are expected to possess and maintain the following:
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • California State License from California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates issued by the Red Cross
  • Current Driver's License issued by the California Department of Motors Vehicles (DMV) Certification (National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)) Copy of Transcript CPR/First Aid Certification Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation ((3) must be within past 12 months) Other (California State License from California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)) Resume Requirements / Qualifications
