An Occupational Therapist helps patients with injuries, illnesses, and disabilities recover, improve, or develop skills needed for everyday activities. Assists people with mobility impairments to move easily around their homes; develops school and workplace settings that are accessible for individuals with physical or mental disabilities. May specialize in certain types of impairments or certain categories of patients.

$60/hour, with higher rates available based on experience Bay Area Friendship Circle is seeking Occupational Therapists (OTs) to join our therapeutic support team for our 2026-2027 Sunday Circle programs. Sunday Circle is an inclusive social and recreational program for children and teens with disabilities. Our OTs work alongside program staff, facilitators, and teen volunteers to provide therapeutic and individualized support to participants throughout the program, including sensory regulation, transitions, behavioral support, engagement, and personal care needs.
Schedule Sunday Morning Circle:
10:30 AM-12:30
PM Sunday Afternoon Circle:
1:30-3:30 PM OTs may work the morning shift, afternoon shift, or both based on availability. 2026-2027

2, 16 Responsibilities Provide therapeutic and individualized support to children and teens with a range of support needs Support sensory regulation, transitions, participation, and engagement Assist participants who may become overwhelmed or dysregulated Provide toileting and personal care assistance to participants as needed, while supporting dignity, privacy, and independence Identify and implement appropriate accommodations and sensory strategies Collaborate with program staff to proactively support participant needs Model supportive strategies for facilitators and teen volunteers Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive recreational environment Qualifications Licensed Occupational Therapist Experience working with children and/or teens with disabilities Experience with autism, developmental disabilities, sensory processing, and/or behavioral support preferred Comfortable providing toileting and personal care assistance as needed Comfortable working in an active, social, and recreational environment Collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic about inclusive programming Compensation Starting at $60/hour, with the ability to offer a higher hourly rate depending on level of experience and qualifications.
