Contract Period:
9 Month (185 days with some variance depending on the year)
Compensation:
SSP Salary Schedule -For the 2026-2027 academic year, all new hires are eligible for a $1,500.00 signing bonus. Please note that this recruitment incentive will be prorated based on the individual's FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) status.- ASD offers district-funded employee and dependent health benefits including medical, vision, dental, and life insurance to benefit-eligible employees. Other benefits include (as eligible): paid leave, CO PERA (pension plan) enrollment with district contribution, TSA options, free transportation for employees from Carbondale to Aspen, employee assistance program, wellness program, supplemental insurance (ie cancer, disability, etc) and employee housing to those who qualify.
I:
Position Summary The purpose of this position is to provide occupational therapy services to students ages birth to 21 years of age for the purpose of helping them benefit from the district special education program.
II:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct screenings, evaluations, assessments of children birth - age 21 Determine students' strengths, needs, and services warranted Help identify long-term goals for post-school outcomes Refer for other discipline involvement when appropriate Assist IEP teams with the development and implementation of IEPs Provide direct and indirect therapy services to students per IEP Train and consult with teachers, providers, and family members regarding curriculum, adaptations, modifications, and student participation and performance Educate self, staff, and students in the proper use of assistive technology, including specialized software and hardware and high/low technologies Act as the liaison to the Colorado Department of Education regarding assistive technology Modify environments to allow access for all students Document services provided and monitor student progress

IV:
Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree and minimum 1 year of relevant experience Current Colorado Initial or Professional Special Services License with an endorsement in Occupational Therapy, Current Crisis Prevention Institute Certification Current CPR and First Aid Certificate

Work Environment Mostly clean and comfortable surroundings May be exposed to body fluids
VI:
Essential Physical Requirements Heavy lifting required for assisting students with ambulation, toileting (including diaper changing) and other personal needs as well as in management and de-escalation of students with aggressive behaviors. Frequent bending, squatting, standing, reaching, walking and sitting Repetitive motion
