Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for pediatric patients, including evaluations of motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities. Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting, fostering independence. Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless support across settings. Support children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders through targeted interventions and therapy programs. Manage electronic health records (EHR), document clinical progress accurately, and maintain comprehensive medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Participate in discharge planning and case management to facilitate smooth transitions from hospital or clinic settings to home or school environments. Experience Proven experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, or home health settings. Demonstrated expertise in pediatric occupational therapy assessments and treatment plan development for children with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders. Prior involvement in early intervention programs or school-based therapy services supporting students with special education needs. Familiarity with medical terminology related to pediatrics and physiology knowledge relevant to child development and rehabilitation. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), supporting their communication, sensory processing, and social skills development. Acute care experience in hospital settings such as ICU or inpatient units is advantageous but not mandatory; clinical interprofessional collaboration skills are essential. Knowledge of evidence-based practice principles applied within pediatric occupational therapy to optimize client outcomes across diverse environments including outpatient clinics, schools, or home health services.
