9677813-06033 Job Description Step into a fulfilling role supporting elementary students on the autism spectrum in a vibrant educational setting. This part-time contract position offers you the opportunity to work with a dedicated group of professionals and make a significant impact through direct service within specialized autism program classrooms. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 2027, allowing you to establish meaningful connections over multiple academic years. Ideal candidates are licensed Occupational Therapists (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) ready to collaborate with educators and other specialists. Youll serve approximately 50 students across five classrooms in three schools, focusing on tangible interventions that foster student growth and independence.

Key Qualifications:

Current OT or COTA licensure in Connecticut Previous experience in pediatric or school settings, especially with autism or developmental disabilities, highly valued Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families Flexibility to adapt interventions to unique student needs Dedication to promoting student progress and engagement

Core Responsibilities:

Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in elementary autism program classrooms Collaborate in the planning, implementation, and review of student individualized education plans (IEP) Document progress and maintain accurate service records Offer support and strategies to classroom staff to enhance student participation Travel between three nearby school buildings as part of the weekly schedule This is a part-time role, Monday through Friday, with a weekly commitment of 22.5 hours.
