Job Description

Hubbard Day, an approved private special needs school in Stamford, CT is looking to hire an Occupational Therapist. We are a rapidly growing full day accredited private special education school situated in a newly built 20,000 square foot waterfront campus. Our sensory gym is state-of-the-art. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated OT who can provide high-quality services to our students. Responsibilities include:
Conduct ongoing assessments in coordination with the instructional team to determine what/if any sensory processing issues are interfering with learning Design programs to address identified sensory issues Develop, enter into SEDS and implement goals and objectives in the areas of fine and gross motor skills, visual motor integration, daily living skills and sensory integration taking into account parent needs Develop strategies to address sensory issues that can be used by all professionals who work with student Make recommendations around needed equipment to assist each student or the school as a whole Provide staff support and training Share research- based interventions with instructional staff and BCBA's Attend PPT's and Team Meetings, presenting data and information in a method easily understood by parents Communicate with parents and provide training and support when needed Home visits upon request Complete progress reports and IEP codes based on data in a timely fashion Support and Train COTA's as requested
