Job Description
Step into a dynamic district-wide position as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, providing essential services to students from Pre-K through 12th grade. This contract opportunity entails a full-time schedule—approximately 7 to 7.5 hours per day—covering an FMLA leave for an initial 12-week term with a strong chance of extension. You'll play a pivotal role collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams, delivering individualized therapy interventions, and documenting meaningful progress for a diverse student population. Candidates must be fully committed to a maternity leave assignment, understanding that while extension is likely, it is not guaranteed at the outset. Qualifications and Desired Experience Active Connecticut license as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Successful completion of NBCOT exam for COTA candidates Preferably previous experience in a school-based setting Proven ability to work across various grade levels (Pre-K-12) Reliable transportation for district-wide travel Comfortable accepting a temporary leave coverage with possible extension Key Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy services to students with a variety of educational and therapeutic needs Collaborate with educators and related service professionals to develop and implement treatment plans Accurately document student progress and therapy outcomes Support students' participation and achievement within their school environment COTA candidates will work under the supervision of a licensed OT Why You'll Love This Role Take advantage of a supportive and collaborative educational environment while making a real impact in students' lives.
