Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students by providing occupational therapy services in an educational setting near Newark, DE. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals who are passionate about helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom, and who bring experience from various OT settings, including school-based, home health, and healthcare environments. There is a potential extension through the next school year (NSY), depending on evolving needs.
What You'll Need:
Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred Familiarity with home health or general healthcare OT practices a plus Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students' functional abilities and develop tailored therapy plans to support educational goals Provide direct occupational therapy services as outlined in student IEPs or individualized plans Coordinate with teachers, staff, and families to implement interventions and strategies Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and professional development sessions Offer consultative support, resources, and training to school staff as needed This contract offers the potential for a full academic year extension, allowing you to build meaningful connections and continue your professional growth in a supportive setting.
