Job Description

As an Educational Vision Therapist, you will work directly under the supervision of our optometrist. You will be responsible for conducting standardized vision testing, implementing personalized training programs, and leading patients through guided eye exercises and activities. Your work will help children and adults overcome reading difficulties, lazy eye, and visual processing issues.
Key Responsibilities Administer Educational Testing:
Conduct standardized visual-perceptual evaluations and motor screening tests as directed by the doctor.
Conduct Therapy Sessions:
Guide patients through in-office visual therapy exercises using specialized equipment (e.g., therapeutic lenses, balance boards, and eye-tracking tools).
Track Patient Progress:
Maintain accurate daily documentation, monitor improvement, and adapt therapy plans to ensure patients reach their visual goals.
Educate Families:
Teach patients and parents how to correctly execute at-home reinforcement activities and exercises.
Collaborate:
Communicate effectively with the supervising optometrist, parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to support the patient's holistic needs.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Vision Science, or a related healthcare field is highly preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience working in a clinical optometry/ophthalmology setting or an educational/teaching background is a strong plus.
Interpersonal Skills:
Exceptional patience, empathy, and the ability to connect and engage with both children and adults.
Adaptability:
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn specialized vision therapy techniques and optometric software.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
