We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PRN Occupational Therapist (OTR) to join our highly skilled, supportive, and friendly healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). This role involves providing specialized rehab for the upper extremity (hand, wrist, arm, shoulder) focusing on restoring function after injury, surgery, or chronic conditions like arthritis or carpal tunnel, using custom splinting, exercises, manual therapy, pain management, and activity-based training to improve strength, dexterity, motion, and daily independence. Additionally, the candidate will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs to enhance functional independence, support recovery, and promote well-being. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving patient outcomes through comprehensive therapy plans and collaborative care while delivering impactful patient care in a team-oriented outpatient setting. Duties 1. Conducts comprehensive initial evaluations, including history-taking and functional assessments of patients by interpreting the prescription ordered by the physician. 2. Develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices while being attentive to protocols. 3. Completes and submits reports and claim submissions pertaining to occupational therapy evaluations within 48 hours. 4. Collaborate with other occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and support staff to coordinate patient care. 5. Communicates effectively with referring providers, workers' compensation case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate ensure continuity of care. 6. Prepares and submits departmental reports, including evaluation reports/summaries, daily SOAP notes, and discharge reports/summaries. 7. Monitors patient progress and modifies treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes and educates patients and their caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and body mechanics. 8. Maintains patient treatments schedules and ensures they are consistent with the needs of the department to achieve all efficiency and productivity benchmarks. 9. Florida Occupational Therapist license (Required) Experience Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to occupational therapy assessments and treatment plan development. Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical documentation standards necessary for accurate recordkeeping. Strong background in case management practices including discharge planning and client communication strategies. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management to ensure efficient documentation and compliance.
