Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional functioning. Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with client goals and medical diagnoses, incorporating evidence-based interventions. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including self-care routines such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Implement occupational therapy programs across various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, home health visits, and skilled nursing facilities. Coordinate discharge planning by collaborating with healthcare teams and families to ensure seamless transitions and continued care. Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR), including progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical reports. Engage in case management activities to monitor client progress, adjust treatment strategies as needed, and support client communication throughout the care process. Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders by providing specialized interventions and caregiver education. Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration with speech therapists, physicians, educators, and other professionals to optimize client outcomes. Educate clients and families on adaptive techniques and equipment use to promote independence in daily activities. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adult rehabilitation. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards relevant to occupational therapy practice. Skilled in implementing occupational therapy assessments and developing effective treatment plans tailored to each client's needs. Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs within school settings or early intervention programs. Familiarity with post-acute care environments such as inpatient units or skilled nursing facilities; ICU or acute care experience is highly valued. Ability to assist clients with ADLs and discharge planning efficiently while maintaining compassionate patient care. Knowledge of evidence-based practices for neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorders support strategies. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management for accurate clinical documentation and medical recordkeeping. Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams. Experience working in outpatient clinics or home health environments is preferred; clinic experience is a plus.
