Overview Join our dynamic behavioral health team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will transform the lives of children with needs for sensory processing and self-regulation. In this vital role, you will assess, develop, and implement tailored occupational therapy programs that promote independence and enhance quality of life for pediatric patients. You'll collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in the office. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive and innovative environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for pediatric patients, including evaluations of motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and daily living skills. Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices to address each child's unique needs. Implement therapeutic interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, and self-regulation goals. Assist children with disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders through targeted therapy strategies. Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with families, schools, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless continuity of care. Document patient progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards. Training in Zones of Regulation is a plus. Skills Proven experience working with pediatric populations across diverse environments such as outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, or home health. Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology and anatomy to inform effective treatment plan development. Skilled in implementing occupational therapy programs tailored to children with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder. Expertise in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), discharge planning, case management, and clinical documentation. Familiarity with medical terminology related to pediatrics and the ability to interpret clinical notes accurately. Experience working with students with special education needs and collaborating within teams. Competence in electronic health records (EHR) management for efficient documentation and communication. Knowledge of evidence-based practices in pediatric occupational therapy. Ability to communicate effectively with clients' families and caregivers to foster understanding and engagement in therapy goals.
