The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient-centered care, with expertise spanning various clinical settings including inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, geriatric, and post-acute care environments. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting individuals of all ages and abilities to achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for developing personalized treatment plans, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and supporting patients through their recovery and adaptation processes. Duties Assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs to develop tailored occupational therapy treatment plans. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and feeding to promote independence. Implement therapeutic interventions for individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or neurological conditions. Conduct discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing home exercise programs or adaptive equipment recommendations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physiotherapists, and medical staff to optimize patient outcomes. Manage case documentation accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. Support early intervention programs for pediatric populations and provide therapy in school or clinic settings. Participate in patient education initiatives focused on injury prevention, occupational health, and wellness strategies. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the respective jurisdiction. Proven experience working across diverse settings such as acute care units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, home health services, or schools. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and functional assessment techniques. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Familiarity with care planning processes including goal setting and progress evaluation. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to adapt therapy approaches based on patient age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics. Prior experience in inpatient settings such as ICU or acute care units is highly desirable.
