Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will empower individuals of all ages to achieve independence and improve their quality of life. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs across diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your dedication will directly impact patient recovery and functional outcomes while fostering a compassionate and motivating atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), discharge planning, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental conditions such as autism. Duties Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine clients' functional abilities and develop tailored care plans that include goals for improving ADLs and overall independence Implement therapeutic interventions across various settings—acute care units, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health—to promote motor skills, cognitive functions, and sensory integration Assist patients with activities such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to enhance their daily living skills Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and medical staff—to coordinate effective care strategies and discharge plans Manage case documentation meticulously by recording progress notes, updating care plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations Provide specialized support for populations such as pediatrics (including early intervention), geriatrics, individuals with autism or disabilities, and those recovering from injury or illness in post-acute settings Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment use to foster independence at home or in community environments Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and functional assessment techniques necessary for effective therapy planning Proven experience assisting with ADLs and discharge planning in inpatient or outpatient settings Skilled in working with diverse populations including pediatrics (school-based programs), geriatrics (occupational health), individuals with autism or disabilities (early intervention), and post-acute care patients Familiarity with ICU experience or acute care environments to manage complex cases requiring immediate intervention Ability to develop comprehensive care plans aligned with patient needs and treatment goals Excellent case management skills to coordinate services across healthcare providers and community resources Effective communication skills for patient education, team collaboration, and documentation compliance Embark on a rewarding career where your expertise transforms lives!
