Shift:
Varied, 16 hours/weekly Under general supervision, supports safe patient handling and mobility by assisting care teams with ambulation, transfers, and repositioning. Models correct techniques and body mechanics, ensure proper use of lift equipment, and provides coaching and education to promote safe, effective patient movement for both patients and staff. Responsibilities:
Contributes toward accomplishment of patient's plan of care goals by providing mobility activities as assigned by the nurse. Assists patients and their families in learning to safely manage personal care while increasing activity, strength, and endurance. Effectively works with the patient and their interdisciplinary care team, reinforcing and promoting therapy/mobility initiatives. Effectively communicates changes in patient condition and functional ability to support an expedited change in the patient's plan of care and prevention of more serious complications. Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Prior related health care experience preferred License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. MOAB (will be obtained during training) Level 3:
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
