Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist supporting elementary students in vibrant educational settings near Des Plaines, IL. We are seeking two dedicated professionals to fill full-time, school-year roles at nearby elementary schools. Position 1 offers the unique chance to cover two non-concurrent leaves across two elementary campuses, ensuring continuity of care and skill-building for young learners. With a stable schedule exceeding 35 hours per week throughout the academic year, you'll make a lasting impact supporting students' developmental goals. Position 2 is a full-time maternity leave coverage at an elementary school, running from October through April, providing consistent services and individualized care to help students succeed in their daily school routines. For both roles, experience in school-based occupational therapy is strongly desired. The ability to adapt to varying caseloads, collaborate effectively with educators and parents, and deliver evidence-based interventions is key to thriving in these supportive school communities. Qualifications Active Occupational Therapist licensure (Illinois) Previous experience in elementary school settings preferred Solid understanding of IEP documentation and best practices in pediatric OT Strong communication and organizational skills Flexibility to work with diverse student needs and school schedules Responsibilities Evaluate and provide direct/indirect OT services to elementary students Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families Monitor progress and participate in IEP meetings Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district policies These roles provide meaningful, hands-on experience in educational therapy within dynamic school environments for the entire school year or a significant portion of it.
