Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students as an Occupational Therapist this upcoming school year. This full-time, on-site position is based near Elgin, IL, focused on FMLA coverage from August 7, 2026, through October 15, 2026, with orientation kicking off August 3 and 4. Enjoy engaging with a diverse student population in both resource and self-contained settings.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapy license in Illinois Previous experience delivering school-based OT services at the elementary and/or middle school level Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary educational team Enthusiasm for working with children in special education and mainstream settings
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative OT services for students as identified in their IEPs Conduct assessments and use available testing materials and equipment to support student progress Adapt and implement interventions for varied classroom environments Maintain timely documentation and student records in accordance with district and regulatory standards Collaborate with teachers, other therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to student support Participate in monthly meetings, annual reviews, and individual check-ins for reflective practice and growth Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and workflow efficiency Enjoy excellent onboarding experiences, including a thorough orientation and "Buddy Program" for new hires, plus easy access to discipline supervisors for guidance and mentorship.
