This school-based opportunity focuses on helping students strengthen the motor, sensory, and functional skills needed to succeed in the classroom and daily school routines. This position is a strong fit for Occupational Therapists seeking school OT jobs, pediatric therapy opportunities, or special education-related careers in Illinois.
Essential Responsibilities:
Complete occupational therapy assessments, evaluations, and progress monitoring for students receiving services. Design and implement individualized therapy interventions based on student needs and educational goals. Support students with fine motor coordination, sensory processing, adaptive skills, and classroom accessibility. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to help students achieve success across educational settings. Attend IEP meetings and contribute recommendations regarding therapy goals, accommodations, and support services. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines. Provide services through onsite sessions and virtual therapy platforms when necessary.
Qualifications:
Current Illinois Occupational Therapist license required. Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
