Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school environment near Palatine, IL. This full-time position, slated for the 2026-2027 academic year, focuses on empowering students with diverse needs, enhancing their participation and success in the learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active Illinois OT or COTA license required (please provide documentation with your application) Experience, interest, or course work in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy is strongly desired Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Strong communication and problem-solving skills Commitment to supporting a diverse K-12 student population
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy interventions to students according to IEP goals and district needs Conduct assessments to identify barriers to student participation and recommend accommodations or adaptive strategies Develop and document therapy plans tailored to each student's strengths and challenges Collaborate with educators and families to foster student independence and academic achievement Participate in IEP meetings, provide progress updates, and contribute to ongoing program improvement Attend mandatory new hire orientation August 12-14 before the school year begins
