ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:
  • Therapy Delivery:
    Administers direct and indirect OT services and interventions.
  • Assessment:
    Evaluates motor skills, sensory development, and functional abilities to guide treatment and eligibility.
  • Collaboration:
    Works with families, educators, and professionals to coordinate care and planning.
  • Documentation:
    Maintains accurate records, treatment plans, reports, and billing in compliance with laws.
  • IEP Participation:
    Develops and implements IEP
  • based goals and transition plans.
  • Supervision:
    Guides COTAs and teaching assistants to meet therapy objectives.
  • Adaptation & Accessibility:
    Identifies and modifies environments, equipment, and toys to support student needs.
  • Instruction & Training:
    Educates staff, students, and families on therapy strategies and assistive devices.
  • Communication:
    Interprets and shares medical and academic data clearly with stakeholders.
  • Service Delivery:
    Provides therapy across multiple sites and supports students with short-term or unique needs.
  • Resource Development:
    Researches and applies effective tools, techniques, and community resources.
  • Family Support:
    Assists families in accessing services and teaches home strategies.
  • Logistics:
    Transports and manages therapy materials and equipment.

  • Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year experience, fieldwork, or internship in pediatric or developmental occupational therapy or closely related field.
  • Licensed by the Illinois Department of Health as an Occupational Therapist Must possess the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy ( NBCOT ) designation.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working in an early childhood setting and inclusive settings.
