Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students' growth and success with an onsite contract position for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the Special Education District of Lake County. This engaging role is for the academic year 2026-2027, serving a K-12 population with a caseload and grade levels to be determined. You'll work in a collaborative school environment, contributing your expertise to help students access their curriculum and achieve their fullest potential. New hire orientation is scheduled for August 12-14 to help you settle in and connect with your team.
Requirements:
Active Illinois OT or COTA license (please provide documentation when applying) Previous school-based experience preferred, particularly with special education populations Knowledge of diverse therapeutic interventions and ability to tailor services to individual student needs Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to working fully onsite, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to K-12 students in accordance with IEP goals Assess students' functional levels and develop effective intervention strategies Collaborate closely with special educators, administrators, and families Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and reports Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights to the support team Adapt interventions based on caseload needs (to be finalized) This contract opportunity offers a dynamic professional environment where you'll make a lasting difference in students' educational experiences.
