Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role serving K-12 students with special needs in a dynamic contract opportunity near Waukegan, IL. The upcoming school year ('26-'27) is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide vital support within an engaging educational environment. This full-time, onsite position is your chance to help students thrive academically, socially, and physically. Start off with a comprehensive orientation from August 12th to 14th, and work 35 hours per week throughout the school year. Your caseload and specific grade assignments are yet to be determined but will be tailored to match your expertise. You'll collaborate closely with educational teams to assess, plan, and implement individualized interventions for students with diverse needs.
Ideal candidates will have:
Active Illinois OT or COTA license (please supply verification upon application; use the IL license lookup tool) Experience or a strong interest in serving the K-12 special education population Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment Dedication to collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills Availability for all required training and orientation dates Key responsibilities include: Delivering direct occupational therapy services to a K-12 student population Assessing students, developing treatment plans, and maintaining progress reports Collaborating on IEP teams and contributing to specially designed instruction Consulting with school staff and families to support carry-over of OT strategies Ensuring compliance with state special education regulations and school district guidelines Ready to contribute to the success of exceptional students? for this opportunity to make a lasting impact in a forward-thinking special education setting.
